For professional baseball players, the major leagues is where it’s at. Big money, first-class travel, the finest hotels and restaurants. And playing against world-class opponents in baseball’s fields of dreams every night.

The minor leagues are a far cry from that. And it’s even more difficult when you work hundreds or thousands of miles away from home and family. It makes for a long, lonely six or seven month season.

Lemo Rocks Decathlon Club

After an amazing performance at San Jose Athletic Club Thursday night, Reggae/Calypso/Rock artist, Lemo performed for the Decathlon Club.

San Jose Giants players and their special moms

Mother’s Day always has extra significance around the San Jose Giants. That’s because ballplayers have more than one mother to be thankful for. Their birth mothers, of course, and their wives if they happen to be married with children. But also the generous “host moms” who allow them to live in their San Jose-area homes during the season.   Read more here.

San Jose’s Cinco De Mayo Rants and Raves

Swarms of low riders flow like ooze into Downtown San Jose’s streets. The feeling in the air is not a joyous celebration. It is more of a chance for ghetto thugs and losers to tromp around making the area even less attractive to anyone looking to enjoy the night, visiting restaurants and local bars meanwhile contributing to our local economy.
